Manali is a breathtaking destination, and 6 days is the perfect amount of time to soak in the local culture, hit the adventure spots, and even explore nearby gems like Kasol and the Lahaul Valley.

Since you’ll likely be arriving from a long journey (often by Volvo bus or car from Delhi or Chandigarh), this itinerary is designed to start with relaxation before moving into high-altitude adventure.

Day 1: Arrival & Riverside Relaxation

  • Morning: Arrive in Manali and check into your hotel/resort.

  • Afternoon: Take a slow walk through Old Manali. It’s quieter than the main town, filled with charming cafes like Cafe 1947 or The Lazy Dog.

  • Evening: Visit the Beas River bank for a peaceful sunset.

  • Stay: Manali

Day 2: Local Sightseeing & Heritage

  • Morning: Visit the Hadimba Devi Temple, a 16th-century wooden temple nestled in a cedar forest.

  • Afternoon: Head to Vashisht Village to see the ancient temple and take a dip in the natural hot springs.

  • Late Afternoon: Walk through Van Vihar (a lush municipal garden) and explore the Tibetan Monastery.

  • Evening: Shop for souvenirs and try local street food (like Siddu or Momos) at Mall Road.

  • Stay: Manali

Day 3: Solang Valley & Adventure Sports

  • Morning: Drive to Solang Valley (14 km from Manali). This is the hub for adventure.

  • Activities: Try paragliding, zorbing, or the ropeway for panoramic mountain views.

  • Winter Note: If you’re visiting in winter, this is the prime spot for skiing and tube slides.

  • Evening: Return to Manali and relax at the hotel.

  • Stay: Manali

Day 4: High Altitude Wonder (Rohtang Pass or Atal Tunnel)

  • Full Day Excursion: * Option A (Rohtang Pass): If open (usually June–Oct), drive up to 13,050 ft for spectacular snow views. Note: Requires a permit.

    • Option B (Atal Tunnel & Sissu): Drive through the world’s longest high-altitude tunnel to enter Lahaul Valley. Visit Sissu Lake and the waterfall for a completely different “Moonland” landscape.

  • Stay: Manali

Day 5: Kullu Valley & Manikaran Sahib

  • Morning: Depart for Manikaran (approx. 80 km). Visit the famous Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara, known for its powerful hot springs where food is cooked in the water.

  • Afternoon: On the way back, stop in Kasol (Mini Israel) for a quick lunch and visit the Kullu Shawl Factories to see traditional weaving.

  • Activity: Optional white-water rafting in the Beas River at Kullu.

  • Stay: Manali

Day 6: Naggar Castle & Departure

  • Morning: Visit Naggar Castle, a historic stone and wood palace with stunning views of the Kullu Valley. Don’t miss the Nicholas Roerich Art Gallery nearby.

  • Afternoon: Final stroll through the local markets for any last-minute shopping.

  • Evening: Departure for your onward journey (Delhi/Chandigarh).
